Personally...VMware is killing me with this new 5.x installation...not really friendly at all...
I have been following this link Derek Seaman's Blog on installing this http://derek858.blogspot.com/2012/09/vmware-vcenter-51-installation-part-1.html and am almost done...but the last and the most important thing is not working...and that is logging into the vSphere Client.
This is a brand new environment, fresh build of vCenter running Windows 2008 R2, Sql is installed on a separate server (SQL 2008 R2). I have SSO working, I can login via the web client no issue. I can't login to the vSphere Client. No matter what I use I get "The vSphere Client could not connect to "vCenter.domain.com". You do not have permission to login to the server:
I have a AD group called vCenter_admin which I am a member of. This group is also a member of the local admin group. I CAN log into SSO w/ my AD credentials with no issue.
What happened to vCenter...Geeze...things were so easy in the 3.x / 4.x days...ugh.
Anyone run into this and how to fix this.
Also in the Web Client, I am not seeing anything listed as a vCenter Server.
