vSphere 5.1 Upgrade with Heartbeat. SSO considerations?

So I've been reading about the upgrade requirements moving to 5.1. Current setup is v5U1 with vCHB 6.5 I have a 2 Virtual vCenter servers, 1 active and 1 passive. SQL DB's (VCENTER and UPDATE MGR) are local and protected by vCHB. FULL SQL not Express

My question is what vCenter Single Sign On Deployment Mode should I choose?

I have read the vCHB guide "Installation on Windows Server 2008 When the Secondary Server is Virtual", in the last section "Upgrading vCenter Server 5.0 to 5.1 when SQL Database is Local and vCenter Server Heartbeat is Installed"

It decribes how to go about upgrading starting with the installation of VMware vCenter Inventory Service but a prerequisite of this is SSO.

So back to my question, how to deploy SSO? Do I just use the default "Install a local instance"? I suspect not as I would probably want to protect the SSO database with Heartbeat, so the other option is to "use an existing supported database" which actually doesn't exist so I guess it has to be created manually.

Which leads to the next question. How do you protect SSO with vCHB?
