Hello,
Introduction:
ESXi version 5.0.0 build 441354 standalone
One network card is used and connected to switch
Two test virtual machines on FreeBSD
Server is located in datacenter
IP address are assigned without DHCP
Datacenter assigned IP address without DHCP they just give me my IP range, broadcast, netmask, etc.
I noticed that if set this same IP address on my VM which is belongs to ESXi then my virtual machine block access to ESXI server. I try few configuration methods in network manager to prevent from this situation but still have this same problem.
Error in logs :
A duplicate IP address was detected for 123.123.123.123 on the interface vmk1. The current owner is
00:0c:29:9c:xx:xx.
Whether it is a solution to protect ESXi main IP address? Because for example if user from mistake set this same IP with is using by ESXi then he block my access to ESXi server and only hard reboot help me :/
Thank you for any help.
Best Regards.
