How-To for Repurposing PC?

Anyone have a "how-to" for re-purposing a PC for use as a VMware View thin client.

My preference would be to use Linux.

I tried using the minimal Ubuntu 12 distro, but I obviously could make it work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
