When I run those tho - I notice that there's a mention of a -v and -vv option for more
output. But when I tried to add those switches to the end of the debug command
but that failed. And I don't see anything about -v -vv in docs e.g.

we are getting an alert from our Vulnerability scanner that we need to enable this feature in VMWare. we have ESXi 6.5 but i cannot find this feature anywhere to enable it. any help would be appreciated.
We have 3 NVIDIA Tesla M10 cards. One card in each of three Cisco UCSC-C240-M4S hosts. We are using Horizon 7.1. I have one pool with 5 VM's in it. They are using the m10-2q profile.
I am unable to power on my parent image. I get the following error:
The amount of graphics resource available in the parent resource pool is insufficient for the operation.
I have tried changing the profile on the parent image to several other profiles but still unable to power on the VM and get same error message.
Also to note. Whenever I refresh or recompose this pool the VM's struggle to startup. They error out with the same message a couple time before finally booting on the third.
I'm not sure if this is something I need to be asking VMware or NVIDIA so I figured I would start here.
Im trying to add a hard drive to a dell pweredge r720, its a 3.5' drive so we are trying to use a Sata to USB 3.0 connection for it. The host is running ESXi 5.5 but when we attach the drive to the physical server we don't see it anywhere in vSphere, we've tried rescanning the host a few times but we still dont see anything. When I plug in a usb cd burner I can see it under storage devices under the USB Controller. Any suggestions on what I should do next?

I am having a VM running under Windows 7 as host , Linux as guest using Vmware workstation 14. Windows crashed and I am not able to start the guest OS Linux now. The vmware files are intact but the .vmx file is missing.
I have installed Ubuntu Linux 16.04 as the host and want to start the guest Linux OS( Red hat)
I tried creating a new virtual machine, which would use the existing vmdk files. There are scores of vmdk files and I do not know which one to use.
Can anybody tell me how to know which vmdk file to use while creating a new VM?

I have a weird issues that I'm hoping someone can help with. Upgrading the vmware view agent from 7.0.3 to any version above on any of our Grid pools (Nvidia Grid - Win 10) causes any user that logs in to be automatically logged out. For some reason this does not apply to admins, but only non admin users (99% of the people in the company. The same issue appears when the agent above 7.0.3 is used on a non floating pool as well.
Here is another piece of random behavior: When installing the view agent by just double clicking, the base image reboots right after the install begins. Just goes black and restarts the image. In order to install it, I have to right click and run as admin to get the install to complete.
Rolling back fixes the issue, but I'm worried that this issue follows us with each new agent version (so far 7.1 and 7.2). I have not been able to load Is there something I should check? I could not find anything that stated that the whole view environment needed to match the agent (the rest of the environment would remain on 7.0.3 for the time being), but I'm thinking I may need to upgrade everything.
We currently have a problem which has been experienced on VMWare Workstation 7 and VMWare Player 3.1.6 build-744570 and VMWare Workstation 7.1.6 build-744570.
The problem causes mouse clicks to be ignored within the guest OS, and seems to occur after a sound is played within the guest OS. The issue can be reproduced by opening Windows explorer and navigating through folders by double clicking on the folder. After opening a folder and then attempting to open another folder or selecting a file within the folder, any further mouse clicks are ignored for a period of time (around 3-5 seconds). The same thing occurs if a Windows application displays an error message. The only workaround we have found so far is to disconnect the sound between the host and guest OS: VMWare menu > Removable Devices > Sound > Disconnect.
The issue was first experienced after a laptop upgrade for the Host OS (upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1, and a new model of Lenovo Thinkpad). The issue occurs in VMs that we working fine with the old laptops using the same versions of VMWare. We are speculating the issue must be related to either Windows 8.1 or the sound driver installed in the Host OS (or a combination).
The driver being used in the Host OS is:
Realtek High Definition Audio
Driver Date: 18/02/2014
Driver Version: 6.0.1.7179
Laptop being used is Lenovo Thinkpad W540 (although this has been seen with other versions of Lenovo laptop)
Host OS version is : Windows 8.1 64-Bit.
Has anyone else experienced these symptoms?
I am getting error while installing ESXi 6.0 U2 using PXE kick start
Error message: gd: Notifying vmsyslogd of hostname changeace, so setting adv Iface to NULL)
System gets halted for 15-20 minutes on this error message and then proceed for rest of the installation.
Any idea what this error means? How to fix this issue?

Sorry, it could be a really dumb question, however, I could not find any for persona management and licensing modal.
Here is what I've found on view architecture planning 7.7.4 doc.
"You must have a Horizon 7 license that includes the Personal Management component"
PS: User Environment Management seems like is covered by Enterprise licensing modal but again not sure if persona management falls into this category.

We utilize a powercli script to deploy virtual machines (servers) in our environment and have been using this script for the past 2 years without much issue. At the very end of the deployment script I use Invoke-VMScript to install programs and make configuration changes in the registry etc.
A few people on my team use this script and noticed that they are seeing failures now on some Invoke-VMScript commands. Each time it is not necessarily the same part of the script of than it is while running the Invoke-VMScript command.
Here are some examples of the failures and the respective script I am running:

I have WebApp RDSH servers for using applications that open in browsers. Three in IE with no issues. Which I configured through GPO to open in full screen mode and works fine with configurations.
Have a WebApp that only opens with Chrome. I have searched all over and found a way for it to work, but can't seem to get the Application pool configured to open. Here is how it is set up on the server which opens with no problem.
Target Example:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --kiosk "http://www.google.com"
Opens in Kiosk mode for the application specified on server. Ran as change user /install.... change user /execute
When I set up application pool in manual. Receive Application has not been installed with the quotes or without the quotes around C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
Shows as status available without the quotes, unavailable with the quotes.
Image Manual Pool Path: with quotes.
Which when I try to open I get application when shows available:
The application could not be launched, possibly because it is missing or misconfigured (without quotes). Contact your administrator.
With quotes status application not available. Which I know is not the proper way to set this up but tried to mirror settings on server.
Has anyone used this and have a work around? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. We are starting a View 7 deployment as a pilot to hopefully go production. We only have 1,000 View licenses now. But I imagine that would expand. When I deploy the VCSA v6.5 appliance, do I still choose the size of the appliance based the number of possible desktop vms we may have at one time? We have the Enterprise license so we do play on using Instant Clones.
Our computer vCenter infrastructure uses all Medium deployments. I am just thinking if I ever go over 4,000 View licenses if I would need the Large vCenter deployment. Thanks,,,
I'm trying to mach the lun qdepth with the HBA qdepth and am getting a hard error that i can't set it beyond '64' [below]:
Unable to set device's sched-num-req-outstanding. Error was:Cannot set device queue depth parameter. sched-num-req-outstanding should be <= 64
I haven't found anything yet regarding this so i'm hoping someone can help me remove this artificial error. I am able to freely set this option on 6.0 without incident.

I have roles and AD groups for each datacenter, One people on a specific datacenter would like to use Guest Customization.

I am preparing for an upgrade from vSphere 5.5 to 6.5.
As shown above we have a very basic setup.
Does upgrading the license online affect my currently installed license?
I am assuming no since it appears that I have to add it in my current environment.
If my previous assumption is correct, how will effect my current setup?
Will it prevent any of my current setup from working?
I don't think so but I want to make sure that I don't cause any problems with the current setup.
I am also assuming that upgrading to vSphere 6 does not require any hardware change.
I also welcome any other comments on the upgrade.

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice on setup for a client which has users needing to connect (via Horizon) to 2 VDIs.
They have offshore users with ThinOS clients connecting to a 'production' VDI, but that then need to connect from that VDI to a 'development' VDI.
I'm wondering about the best method. We've had them access via Internet Explorer/BLAST, but there have been complaints about performance. Due to that they tend to fall back to using Remote Desktop/MSTSC which, while better performing, introduces its own problems with name resolution and the need for the individual user (or Domain Users) to be a member of the local Remote Desktop Users group.
Does anyone have any experience of this 'double-hop' requirement, and which protocol/client method is the best?

This mornig the 7.1.1 version crashed to a blue screen of death. After manualy unplugging computer to get a restart of VMware. The program said that the suspended program had been corupted and to discard and restart. So I did that now the Program says that shared files on VMware host the location is unavailble, that the pathway has been destroyed and or it is corupted. says it cannot acces the shared files on VMware host, or and File on drive E:. the whole system is extremly sluggish and takes forevery to even open a window? Please help.
