I got ESXi 5.0 (4 sockets x 6 p cores, 469512) managed by vCenter std (5.0 913577) and licensed with vSphere Enterprise. According to https://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere5/r50/vsphere-50-configuration-maximums.pdf there is a limit of 32 vCPU per vm, but i got the error message:
I`ve tried Windows 2008R2, Debian 6 as guest OS with the same result.
Can someone explain me what is the problem?

I am building website for my ESXi 6 clients to manage VM from it. So fan so good. But I'm stuck with VNC setting.
I whant to retrieve VNC password and Port from http://esxi-host-ip/mob/
Only thing I can get is {"@type":"xsd:string","#text":"RAMDOM-PASSWORD"} from using info.config.extraConfig['23'].value. But since every VM has different data classification, code wont work on every VM.

I have recently upgraded to Win10 pro and afterwards my virtual network adapter ip addresses had been scrambled (running workstation 10.0.7). I tried to restore default but this did not sort the problem, when I try to create host only virtual networks and check the 'connect a host virtual adapter to this network' box (use local DHCP unchecked) the network editor runs for a long time but does nothing, no virtual adapters are created. After a little bit more investigation and a repair, and an uninstall and reload, I found that the problem seemed to be 'vmware network install library executable not responding'.
I can see this in the windows performance monitor whenever I install workstation or try to update the network settings. Any ideas whats causing this?

Application which runs on Windows server 2008 R2 hosted on VSphere 5.5 sometimes drops UDP packages.
I have observed that some UDP packages are sometimes dropped and aren't visible on Wireshark.
This issue happens regularly for the application. Network adapter type which is used for this machine is E1000.
For sending UDP packages is used UdpClient object from .NET framework 4.5 .
UDP message is relatively short about 70 bytes long.
Application logs shows that message was sent, but wireshark dumps doesn't contain it.
View 6.0.2. Recently upgraded, but no other issues so far.
I noticed when I issued a recompose (with wait for users to log off) during the middle of the day it started recomposing all of my desktops (except for those with users logged in). It did not leave any desktops in the "Available" or "Provisioned" state. The minimum number of ready (provisioned) machines during View Composer maintenance operations is set to 5 under my pool settings.
Has anyone else ran into this or can verify this happens to them as well?

We upgraded vCenter Servcer from 5.x to 6.0, Which was working fine.
As we had to upgrade ESXi also we shut down vCenter [one of Vm ] and brought it back, Our Single Sign On Windows Domain was also corrupt.
Now Domain is back and vCenter VM, however vCenter Server Service is not running which essentially is depending on Inventory Service which is failing to start.
On web console I'm getting error as "503 Service Unavailable (Failed to connect to endpoint: [class Vmacore::Http::NamedPipeServiceSpec:0000000001D6D190] _serverNamespace = / _isRedirect = false _pipeName =\\.\pipe\vmware-vpxd-webserver-pipe)"
All discussion I found refer to SSO re-registration due to AD changes, however they are using 5.5x command which I coudn't found in 6.0.
There is no SSO service in 6.0 too and log files location is changed.
Question is what is location of new log file related to inventory service and how to fix this SSO issue with Invertory service.

I'm running a HA cluster with 4 hosts each with 4 x 1 GB NIC's verion 6.0. When I try to enable a vm for FT I get the warning the virtual nic associated with the host has insufficient bandwidth for vsphere fault tolerance logging attached is the exact error.
If I try to ignore the warning I am then unable to start the secondary vm. I've only read that 10 GB is reccommended but not a requirement. Has anyone managed to set this up with version 6 and less than 10 GB bandwidth?

This is my first post to the communities in a very long time, so please be gentle. I am doing some automation work for a client, and one of the third party applications we are integrating with for password management requires that API users be tied to a specific IP address. In a single node vRO instance this is not a problem, however this is an HA configuration, and even though it is an active/passive failover the workflows still need to work if it fails over. About 50% of the custom flows will depend on calling a password from this third-party system. My password calls work just fine from node 1 where I did all of the development, but now I am tackling the issue of making the flow work from either node.
I have a very cludgy way of circumventing this issue, using SSH to 127.0.0.1 (which defeats the point of using a password management system in the first place), but I am really hoping there is a more elegant way to accomplish this task. Perhaps a property within vRO that can be called? Or an action that can return the current node hostname? If anyone has any insight, it would be greatly appreciated.

Snapshot Getting failed With error code5, The guest OS has reported an error during quiescing
i was searching trying to solve this problem but nothing, the problem is that i cant copy any file from the guest and paste in the host.
I try to uninstall the vmware tools and install it again and nothing, reinstall vmware tools and nothing.
it happens when i try to copy text or files, any text and any size/type of files.
but, when i try to copy any file/text from de host to the guest it copy in the VM.
it is a problem of my host? vmwaretools? vmware workstation?

I was trying to download the ESXi 6.0 today but it seemed not working. I have logged in and reached the screen shown below, but both the "Start Download Manager" and "Manual Download" link provided no responses when clicked on.
I have tried to use Firefox and IE, and IE's without add-on mode. All not working.

I am having issues getting the IaaS portion of vRA setup. During the setup I'm receiving an error stating "Domain user iwic\vra.svc is not valid or database access denied. Validation error 1385." This has occurred when trying to connect to a SQL cluster and with a local SQL install on the IaaS server. I've ruled out firewall issues, ensured that the vra.svc has full admin right to the SQL server, verified correct username and password. As this point I'm stuck and looking for help on getting this install completed.

I am unable either import/export OVF templates to/from a v6.0 ESXi host using vCenter.(This is the first time I am doing this)
My attempts to import an OVF (have tried two different ovfs with same results) result in "Connection to the remote resource was lost. Check your network connection" error, followed by "Task was cancelled by user"
Attempts to export a template end with "Could not connect to the remote resource: Couldn't resolve the hostname", again followed by "Task cancelled by user"
From the VCenter server I can NSlookup and ping the host and VM (ping when turned on) indicating to me that it is not a DNS issue.
Attached is a vpkd log file that shows logging that happens from point of import request to point of failure.
Does anyone have an idea as to what is happening here, or how I may be able to fix this issue.
ps. I am able to deploy an ovf directly to the host using the vsphere client, but the "data protection ova" seems to require going through vCenter.

The only exception about the environment working is that a single user cannot access their dedicated VM when going through the external security server. It says no desktops are available.
