Hi,

I tried to install a ESXi 5.0 on my PC desktop for test purpose. That desktop has one hard disk which was installed with windows XP. My installation ran into this errors:

Error (see log for more info):

vmkfstools failed with message: Device path name "/vmfs/devices/disks/t10.ATA____ST3168812AS_________________41N3268_LEN_____________5LS9LFC9:8" is not a valid absolute or relative path

Failed to resolve device name path /vmfs.devices/disks/t10.ATA____ST3168812AS_________________41N3268_LEN_____________5LS9LFC9:8

UsageL vmkfstools -C [vmfs3lvmfs5] /vmfs/devices/disks/vml... or ,

              vmkfstools -C [vmfs3lvmfs5] /vmfs/devices/disks/naa... or ,

              vmkfstools -C [vmfs3lvmfs5]

/vmfs/devices/disks/mpx.vmhbaA: T:L:P

Error: No such file or directory

Is there any error on my hard disk? Do I have to format the disk before installing ESXi?
