Windows 7 checking "base video" changes master image resolution

Hi all,

We are building a Windows 7 virtual desktop pool and in the "VMware View Optimization Guide for Windows 7" it suggests we run "msconfig", go to the "Boot" tab and check "Base video". When we do this every time we log into the master image the resolution goes back to a very basic, low resolution, size and we have to change it.... it is getting pretty annoying. How much of a performance hit is it to leave the "Base video" unchecked and should we do it?
