I want to know if this is possible and what the possible implications it can cause, if any.
Set up:
2 Guest OS's in VMware, all with both using different virtual drives ofcourse since you cant use the same guest OS file on multiple instances.
Then I set up another virtual HDD, lets call it SharedMyDrive, and this HDD will contain all my data and programmes.
Can I make both of the guest OS's use that SharedMyDrive? (Should be possible with the settings options allowing to add more HDDs) but then my question is; how is the data in that shared HDD manipulated?
If I'm running both of the OS's and both of them make changes in SharedMyDrive, is it just a matter of whoever makes changes first saves that? Would it cause windows errors such as 'this file is already in use' messages if I try to delete a file on OS1 but its in use from OS2?
