The VM works when I have 4GB memory. After upgrade to 5GB the VM said
"Not enough physical memory is available to power on this virtual machine with its configured settings. To fix this problem, decrease the memory size of this virtual machine to 84 MB, increase the amount of physical memory for all virtual machines to 1219 MB, or adjust the additional memory settings to allow more virtual machine memory to be swapped."
Below are what I have tried. I believe it should be a bug in VM. Please let me know if there is anything I can try to fix the issue,
- The VM has been shutdown shutdown.
- When I got the fail on 5GB system, I changed back to 4GB. It works without the error message.
- No setting has been changed before or after upgrade memory
- I don't think that I have to change any setting as I'm upgrade memroy not downgrade memory.
Configuration
- VMware workstation 9.0.1 build 894247 / Vmware Player 5.0.1 build 894247
- OS: Win7 SP1 ENG 64bit
- VM: Win8/Win7 both fail to power on and have the same message
