This may be abit of a bispoke question but im really stuck and any ideas would help;
We have a Virtual Certificate Authority Server that a colleuge of mine decide to have a play around with and broke.
Im trying to restore the server from an old snapshot and this works with no problem... but when i try and connect to a domain account im getting an error in the security log of the server saying that the DC wont authenticate because there is a computer with the same name on the domain already.
I have shut down the Original server prior to restoring the server so only one is online but i dont understand what it could be the SID is exactly the same, im not trying to clone the machine im trying to restore it.
The exact error i get is:
This computer could not authenticate with \\dc0.******.***, a Windows domain controller for domain *****, and therefore this computer might deny logon requests. This inability to authenticate might be caused by another computer on the same network using the same name or the password for this computer account is not recognized. If this message appears again, contact your system administrator.
Any help would be much appreciated.
