Guest OS won't start up on VMware Player 5.0.1 since upgrading Kernel on Scientific Linux 6.3 32bit

Hi all,

Now I use VMware Player 5.0.1 (32bit) under the following environment:

Host OS: Scientific Linux release 6.3 (Carbon) 32bit

Kernel: 2.6.32-279.14.1.el6.i686

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz

Total memory: 8GB

Swap: 16GB

HDD: 2TB

Guest OS: WIndows 7 Professional Ultimate 64bit (CPU Allocation 1、Memory 2GB)

Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard (CPU Allocation 1、Memory 2GB)

Under the above environment, Guest OSs won't start up and Host OS forcely reboots right now.

I deploy other kernel, kernel-2.6.32-279.9.1.el6.i686 and they can do so only on it.

Personally, I think this issue will be due to Kernel update, but don't know what I should do.

Please let me know if anyone know any work-around or solution for it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
