I have a remote overseas office that needs a server infrastructure. I was going to put a small VNX in place with 3 rack mount servers. I really don't want to put a SAN over there since there are no on site IT people that know anything about SAN's or fibre switches. So my question, are there any recommendations on still using VMware but have a redundant setup incase of hardware failure minus the SAN?
I really don't want to use the storage appliance to be able to move VM's across physical hosts, but I don't know of any other way to do this without a SAN backend.
Does this make any sense?
