Upgraded to Fusion 5.0.2. Have a Boot Camp drive that was working under previous version of Fusion. Now, when loading Windows XP (SP3) I get an error that says "The operation on file "/dev/rdisk0s1" failed. Searched through the forums and tried the repairing persmissions, to no avail. Ran across the suggesion to check the vmware kexts and got the following:
$ kextstat | grep vmware
115 1 0xffffff7f82329000 0x12000 0x12000 com.vmware.kext.vmci (90.4.18) <10 5 4 3 1>
116 0 0xffffff7f8233b000 0x10000 0x10000 com.vmware.kext.vsockets (90.4.22) <115 7 5 4 3 1>
117 0 0xffffff7f8236b000 0xa000 0xa000 com.vmware.kext.vmnet (0090.04.91) <5 4 3 1>
118 0 0xffffff7f82375000 0xd000 0xd000 com.vmware.kext.vmx86 (0090.04.91) <7 5 4 3 1>
119 0 0xffffff7f82382000 0x6000 0x6000 com.vmware.kext.vmioplug.10.1.24 (10.1.24) <36 5 4 3 1>
The post says that there should be 4 kexts, not 5. Could this be part of the problem?
The Mac is a Hackintosh running 10.8.2. The Boot Camp is separate physical drive (can't run a Boot Camp partition with a Hackintosh).
Any assistance would be most appreciated.
