I aa researching for ideas how to design a modern vmware environment for windows 2012.

As windows 2012 has no the functionality to clone active directories, could this help to build one orginal enivironment and than clone it

to the other two environments without a modification. This means totally isolation of this environement by network.

Today we have three different domänes for test , dev and prod. This means every script or application has to check before in which domain

it is installed and take a specific paramater for every domain.

It would be a lot easier to only have one domain which is cloned and all scripts and application can be used in all there doamins without modification.

I know there is vcloud director with network fencing, but I am asking for total approach.

What I only found is the following way:

Prod -> Prelive -> Test/DEV.    So the start point is everytime in the prod and not the other way.

I want :

Test/DEV -> Prelive -Prod.    Prod should have very litte rights from rights form security.

In test/dev enviroments there could be several total environments to get the best environment for cloning into production.

As microsoft plans to go to a one year release cycle for me the best way is to start in test /dev and than clone the whole environemnt to prod.

This is a safe and fast way to bring new technology into production.
