ThinApp with Symbolic Links

I am working on a ThinApp package for an application that stores a local configuration file within its program files folder. The location of the configuration file has to sit in the program files folder. We are looking into using symbolic links in order to centralize this configuration file to a network path. This will provide easier management and update of this file.

Here's my challenge. When packaging the application, the symbolic link is replaced by the actual file and then included in the package. I need to come up with a way to maintain that symbolic link, or alternatively have ThinApp run a command at application startup to create that link.

I am looking for some advice here on what the best approach would be. Or am I heading towards a dark path?

Can I configure the ThinApp to run a script or command at program launch to place a symbolic link in the program files folder of this application?

Thanks!
