Hello. I am new to VMware and am building a relatively small virtual server environment - 2 ESXi hosts and probably 8-10 VM's. I have a storage array in a SAN with iSCSI, CIFS, NFS capability. The VM's are your typical Windows servers - DC, SQL, web app, file servers. I am looking for help on setting up datastores. Is there any reason not to put them all in the same datastore? Maybe isolate the SQL for performance?
Are there any guides on best practices with this?
Obviously I am not a storage expert so would appreciate any guidance at all. Thanks
