Active Directory Groups

Hello,

With my logon belonging to the ESX Admins group, I have Administrator rights to the ESXi server.

However, if my logon also belongs to another group and I add this group to the ESXi server, if that group is assigned to a lesser privileged role, my logon looses some administrative rights (i.e., cannot create VMs anymore).

The fact my logon belongs to two groups with different roles is causing this, and now I face a configuration problem.

I need a secondary group with lesser privileges to easily manage users in my team and assign them only the privileges they need, but myself I am a member of that group too.

I was expecting that by belonging to a group with Administrative rights I would always be an administrator, which is not the case.

Strangely enough, if I add an entry for my logon as Admin in the server, I get my rights back.

This is puzzling me.. anyone can shed a light on this?

Thanks.
