I would love to know if anybody has a fix for this one. I've been getting the below error randomly on various terminal users sessions and can't seem to get it fixed. The only issue seems to be the error itself, the TS works fine, the VM works fine, it's just the error and the reason behind it I can't get fixed.
Here is the background:
Created a new 2008 R2 64 virtual machine on Esxi 5 and all was well. Installed VMTools first thing and went about updating the server, added to the domain, added the Terminal Server role and deployed. Well sometime later random terminal users started getting the tools error below popping up when they connect. The faulting module always appears to be 'unity.dll' and I thought maybe there was a conflict with it and DEP on the server but it doesn't look like Unity is anything more than a .dll.
The only related solution I found online was to uninstall VMTools of course and reinstall, no help there but also some said to reinstall VMTools on the TS in application-install mode and that's what I tried last. It thought that had done the trick because I hadn't seen the error in over a week but this morning two users reported the popup message again.
Thanks for any help,
Andy
