Hi guys
I'm just coming to building out our production 5.1 kit. We're using AD for authentication and MSSQL as a backend.
Obviously SSO is a critical part of the infrastructure and needs to be protected where possible. However the database backend, SSO, Inventory Service and vCenter Server are all critical in as much that without one of them you are scuppered.
I've been looking into whether its worth building an SSO cluster and currently I'm thinking "not". It doesn't seem possible for SSO to play with an HA MSSQL setup, so you already have a point of failure here.....
I'm currently leaning towards having a separate MSSQL DB server, but placing SSO/Inventory/vCenter/Web Client (Server) all on one machine.
Be interested to hear from anyone who has thoughts or experience on this.
TIA
Lee.
