What am I doing wrong?

Hi there

I am evaluating Fusion 5, trying to install windows 8 on it after I get the VMware running.

Having a heck of a time trying to get the Win8 install files to run on the VM.

I have downloaded from Microsoft an install copy of the 64 bit OS to a USB flash drive and have successfully installed it on a HP laptop and in Parallels Desktop 8, which I am also evaluating.

I am running the newest Mac-Mini Intel i7 with 16Gb ram

However, try as I might, I cannot get Fusion 5.0 to see the files to run the install.

So far I have tried -

1. using Disk utility to create a .CDR disk image and associated it to the CD in fusion setup

2. Created and ISO image of it using IMG burn and associating it to the CD in Fusion setup

3. Mounted the USB flash drive in Disk Utility as a device and defining it in Setup

4. imported the working copy of the VM from Parallels Desktop which was successfully imported to a VMware file.

Everytime the VM is restarted it goes straight to PXE and eventually times out saying "Operating System not found"

What am I missing in my understanding of how to get running in Fusion?

Thanks for listening...Anton
