So, we have a Windows 7 laptop that has Vmware workstation 8.0.4 installed. This laptop is primarily used for demo purposes, therefore it won't always have an internet connection. We noticed from the settings that the network adapters are bridged automatically and we can access files between both the host and the virtual machine when a network cable is plugged in. Once the network cable is unplugged from the Windows 7 host, the network status on both the host and the virtual machine will change to network cable unplugged, as expected. The problem is that when a network cable is unplugged, the host and the virtual machine can't talk to each other (or transfer files). Is there a setting or some setup that I can use to allow for this? Thanks in advance for any help!
