Hi,
I want to install linux-OS (Gentoo) which is not officially supported but reported to work. But when I try to create new VM and pick "Other Linux (64-bit)" as guest OS, the only network adapter I can use is E1000. No vmxnet3 is allowed, but that is what I want. So my question is:
Can I pick some other linux version i.e. "CentOS 4/5/6 (64-bit)" when creating VM, select vmxnet3 eth-adapter, install my guest and all drivers, and then later edit VM-properties and switch guest-OS to "Other Linux (64-bit)"? Does such a change auto-switch eth-adapter to e1000, or does it remain vmxnet3?
