can I convert poweron machine into file vmdk ?

I'm using ESXi 4.1 with vCenter server and I need to convert "power-on" machine into file because later I'm going to import into my Vmware infrastucture

server.

If I use "Vcenter converter standalone client" I can only to specify, as destination,  "Vmware infrastucture server" and not any local folder

"Physical Machine" to convert is on public network.

My vCenter server in on private network.
