Error: Unexpected failure: Catastrophic failure
Hi All, It’s a 2003 SP2 x86 box with 50 Gig virtual hard drive. Normally on a physical server, if I get such an error I’d run check disk but not sure of virtual. My question to you is – should I be running check disk on a virtual hard drive? You’d think I am asking an OS question but the purpose here is to know more about virtual hard drives. Is it a standard practice to treat a virtual hard as a physical drive? Is in practice to run hard drive tools like check disk, defragmentation on a virtual hard drive? Where does the problem lie if virtual hard drive has errors & how to repair/fix virtual hard drives? Thanks in advance.
