vMotion IP Addressing

I'm walking into a an already established environment (new job) and I noticed that all of the vMotion IPs on the hosts are the same IPs *as* the hosts themselves.  These aren't supposed to have the same IPs are they?

IE:

Host 1 IP: 10.10.10.3 (for example)

Host 1 vMotion IP: 10.10.10.3

Host 2 IP: 10.10.10.4

Host 1 vMotion IP: 10.10.10.4

Wouldn't this mean that the vMotion is configured on these hosts to loop back TO that same host?  Or am I misunderstanding this?
