Hi all,
I have the documentation from VMware and the articles from virtualvcp.com on replacing the certs. I have setup a test vCenter server but it isn't exactly the same as what I have in production. I only used the SQL Express edition and didn't join it to my domain. My production server is on my domain and I have a seperate SQL server that it connects too.
Anyway, the test environment works with replacing the certs, but I do have one question regarding the vpxd -p command. On my test server it is just my local admin password as that is the only account I have. For production I have a domain service account that my vCenter services run under. Would this be the password I would use when prompted?
If I look at my ODBC connection it is just set to Integrated Windows Authentication, so no actual account seems to be specified.
I'm asking since when I first did this on my test server I left the password blank and the vCenter service didn't start up. My local admin pass isn't blank of course, even in my lab. Luckely I took a snapshot before I did this. I ran it again and used my local admin password and everything worked like a champ.
Ideas on how I can make sure it's the service account password that I need to use?
Thanks.
