Migrate virtual vCenter Server 5.1 to dissimilar ESXi hardware

Hello Everybody,

I have a vCenter server 5.1, vCenter Database and vCenter SSO server all running as different virtual machines.

My vCenter server, SSO and DB VMs are running on an ESX 4.1 host.

I have some newer better hardware that I want to move these VMs to. It's running at a different EVC mode to the old hardware. But as it's the vCenter server, and move to the new hardware will require it to be powered off - how to I do it? I need to be able to access vCenter whilst the VM is off to cold-migrate it to the new host. Same applies to SSO and Database servers. If I power them off, i won't be able to migrate them using vCenter server.
Now I can connect directly to the Host that is hosting the vcenter VM and Shutdown the vCenter server. The Remove it from Inventory and connect to the new Host and browse the .VMX file and add to the inventory. By doind so I will have my vCenter server on the new Host.
What about the vCenter Database server and SSO server. Should I do same for those servers as well? Or Can I just power them down and do the cold migration to new hosts using vCenter server without getting disconnected from vCenter?
Also If i have to do "remove from inventory" process for my vcenter database and SSO server, should I do Database first then SSO and finally vCenter or it doesn't matter?
Many Thanks,
AG
